MOLANA ABDULLAH DURKHANI
Molana Abdullah Durkhani gave birth in the home of Haji Muhammad Azeem Durkhani on 11th Moharamul haram (1st month of Islamic calendar), 1298A.H (1878 A.D) at Dhadar. His mother saw in their dreams that Hazrat Fatma (Raziallah O Tala Anho), (Lovely daughter of the HOLY PROPHET (PEACE BE UPON HIM)) came to their home, took their reserved lamp and lit it. She told the story to her father, Mohammad Fazil Durkhani. Fazil Durkhani had no male off spring. He named his grandson Abdullah and himself took the care of his education. Within a short span of time Abdullah got valuable knowledge and experience from his grandfather. While Abdullah Durkhani was 18 years old his grandfather fazil durkhani passed away. After the death of his kind grandfather his educational program was stopped because his mother did not want to allow her only son out of home for acquiring education. But Abdullah was reviled in dream that he should continue his education. He asked permission from his mother for many times to go out for receiving education but every time she rejected his request. Finally he received permission from his mother. He went to Shikarpoor got admission in a madrassa. After getting education in the madrassa for some time he went to Sukkur and admitted in the Madrassa of Molana Nazar Muhammad. He completed his education from this madrassa in 1900A.D and returned back to Dhadar, following the footsteps of his grandfather started the process of teaching. He used to come Quetta during summer and would go back to Dhadar during winter.
During the year 1935 to 1937 he performed the service of chief judge in Kalat state. Despite his other Excellences and capabilities he was also a talkative poet and a great writer. He has drafted many books in Brahui, Arabic and Persian. He has 15 books in prose and verse among these books only 6 of them have been published. The names of his published books are as followed:
- Shmail Sharif: (Brahui poetic, versified) published in 1909. The book describes the dispositions, habits and sayings of the HOLY PROPHET (PEACE BE UPON HIM).
- Ifazatull Musally (Arabic, Persian translation) published in 1925, the book describes the precepts of prayer. The book is considered to be the first book written in Arabic language in Baluchistan.
- Silsla chashmovi (Persian prose) the book describes the succession of naqshbandi saints.
- Mojzat sharif: (Brahui peotic) published in 1931. The book mentions the 70 miracles of the HOLY PROPHET (PEACE BE UPON HIM).
- Safar Hijaz Durkhani: (Persian prose) published in 1962. It is an account of journey of Pilgrimage of Molana Abdullah himself. Other books of the Molan Abdullah have not been published.The names of those books are Fatawa e Durkhani, Tohfatululoom, rahnama, kanzul akhbar, misba, Darul Manasik, Ashraf fi Ahkam monograph, Kala e Nifaq.
