Professor Azeem Jan was born in the home of Shafi Mohammad on 07th February 1953 at Sirki Kalan, Quetta. He belongs to Mohammad Shahi Tribes band khudrani. His basic territory is village Mohammad Shahi Sewazai Mangchar. In pursuance of profession his father migrated to Quetta (the birth place of Azeem Jan) in 1935. Professor Azeem Jan was five years old, while his father passed away. He was nourished by his uncle Raheem Dad. Professor Azeem Jan got education from first class to 10th class in special high school, Quetta. As soon he passed his metric he joined department of co-operative society as inspector. During his eight years service in this department he accomplished Brahui in 1975 and did F.A in 1978. He resigned from his previous service in 1982, and was appointed cashier in Baluchistan University in 1982, he did his B.A and Master in political Science in 1984. He passed his all exams with second division. In 1987, he was appointed as lecturer in Brahui with the condition he had to pass M.A Brahui in first division in the same year.. He worked hard for the purpose and fulfilled the condition as passing the examination of M.A Brahui with first position. In 1995, he started taking part in Brahui programmes for children from Radio Pakistan Quetta. He is one of the founders of Brahui Academy. In 1974, he laid down the foundation of “Anjoman-e-Falaho-Behbood” killi Sirki Kalan with the spirit of serving the people as a social worker. He became the first General Secretary of this organization. He had stepped in the field of singing in 1979 and Radio Pakistan was utilizing his songs. When PTV Quetta center was launched in 1974, first of all it telecast Azeem Jan’s Brahui song. Due to his hard working and sincerity with his profession, he has been attached with PTV as a musician since 1976. He has received the award of “ Bulbule Balochistan” by Baloches of Liari, Karachi . For his excellence singing. Brahui Adabi Society, Brahui Arts Academy and many other social and literary institutions have conferred on him “ Best singing awards” He has performed in Golf countries, and also represented the Brahui language in many national musical programs notwithstanding, his stage, Radio and Television singing his cassettes are also very popular. He began writing with “Elum Mastung” latter on his articles have been published in Ahwal-e-Khuzdar, and other Brahui magazines. His poetry is mostly consisted on revolutionary and epic poems. His one book of Brahui music “ Fan-o-Fankar” is underway to be published. He has been working to compile a Brahui dictionary for many years. He has collected a very big amount of Brahui words (vocabulary) still he has been busy in literary, and social works and services of his public.
